West Branch Delaware River
The crown jewel of Eastern trout fishing — the West Branch below Cannonsville Dam is a cold, rich tailwater that grows big, selective wild browns and rainbows over miles of technical dry-fly water. Bottom-release flows keep it cold all summer; hatches are legendary from the Stilesville release down to Hale Eddy and the Hancock junction pool.

Salmon River
The Salmon River at Pulaski is the East's premier Great Lakes tributary — enormous fall runs of chinook and coho salmon followed by winter and spring steelhead draw anglers from around the world to the Douglaston Salmon Run and the drift-boat water below the Altmar hatchery. Bottom releases from the reservoir keep it running all season.

The East Branch below Pepacton Reservoir is the West Branch's wilder cousin — a cold bottom-release tailwater up top near Downsville that warms as it runs to the big water at Fishs Eddy and Hancock. Wild browns and rainbows above, with smallmouth and trophy browns mixing in the lower reaches.
